Pain is distracting: Mental status exam results are not accurate if a person is in acute pain or under the influence of some medications. If you are in pain, you may not be able to concentrate adequately to recall items or even to focus on the exam at all. Try it again when the pain has resolved, if you are concerned.

During attack?: If this happened during a migraine attack and does not happen otherwise I would not worry at this point. We can all always worry about Alzheimers, but try to live life, and be healthy as there is nothing medically proven to stave off Alzheimers.

Interpretation: Migraine headaches are not uncommonly associated with varying neurological features, and the rare syndrome of DYSPHRENIA HEMICRANIA TRANSITORIA, is likely your diagnosis. This has nothing to do with Alzheimers's. Have your neurologist place you on a preventative medication.
