Baby saliva: Hyper salivation in an infant is common and does increase during teething. 6 weeks is very young to be teething but considering your baby was born with an erupted tooth, it is definitely possible.

Not necessarily: Drooling is common during early infancy because they have no social conscience. They are not concerned about the dribble. It can increase anytime there is mouth irritation. I'm not convinced that the average kid experiences any significant "teething" discomfort for most of their dental eruptions.It is a good excuse people use for random fussiness that is common to the age group.
