Treatment helps: Unfortunately, there is no definitive cure for chronic hepatitis B: by definition, a chronic disease lasts more than 6 months and shows various levels of activity (liver damage). Appropriate treatment is aimed at making the liver damage as little as possible (inactive disease or one with low activity). Your may live a relatively normal live as long as the disease is under such control.
