Swelling?: If you are having swelling or pain in the eye socket itself, this may require more urgent evaluation. Pressure in the maxillary sinus under the eye can cause similar pain and can often be relieved with saline nasal rinses and antihistamines.

Could be sinuses: This could be a sinus infection. Your maxillary sinuses are just under your eyes. It would be best for you to see a doctor as soon as possible. If you develop fevers or vision changes go to emergency department.
