I've gotten tonsillitis four times in two months. how much longer until i should consider a tonsilectomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Soon: It is likely that these are not separate infections. Most general physicians treat with antibiotics without taking a throat culture which is wrong. There are essentially three indications for tonsillectomy. a.) Documented evidence of tonsillitis 3-4 times a year. b.) Mechanical obstruction (hypertrophy) causing sleep disorder. c.) Severe foul taste in mouth due to retention of food particles.
