Fiber: No particular diet but add fiber to your diet, bran will help and lots of fruit and salads. One other thing you might consider is a stool softner. Are you taking enough water? This something that should work.

Large stools: You could try increasing the transit time through your intestinal tract by taking a combination stool softener and mild intestinal stimulant like senokot (senna) so that stools will be passed more often in smaller caliber. Applying a lubricant rectally allows easier passage. A gastroenterologist could give you more advice.

Stool size: Increasing your fluid and ruff age intake may help. Also adding daily Metamucil may help

Fiber: If you .are hard, you need more fluids and fiber in your diet. Increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables. Try to eat more whole grains instead of processed foods which have little to no fiber. The size of the stool is not as troubling as the hardness of the content. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. Aim for 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.

Try to: Make sure you are hydrated. Make sure you have good insoluble fiber intake ... think leafy veggies, whole grains, nuts. Stay active too.
