I just had a very large stool that i almost couldn't squeeze out, luckily only minimal red after wiping. how did the stool get so large? is there a way to prevent? what happens if can't squeeze out?

Big Stool: A key function of the colon is to absorb water from the stool. Sounds like you were dehydrated and thus you got stuck with a big problem. Good to DRINK drink drink to prevent this from happening in the future. Fruits n veggies have water in them plus fiber, which is why they are so good for bowel health. You can check you pee color to see if dehydrated- if yellow, drink more. If clear then OK.

Constipated: You were constipated. The best ways to prevent that is to make sure you drink water, have veggies or fibers. Prune juice helps. Stool softeners help like Colace (docusate sodium) or Dulcolax. And even the occasional mild laxative would help to depending on other medications you take or the type of lifestyle that you have. The reason you saw a little blood is because of hemorrhoids having pressure on them
