Nerve block: In the not too distant past nerve blocks were done without any ultrasound or fluoroscopy but with a solid understanding of anatomy. Ultrasound now offers a different view and has the blocks safer. So yes is the answer provided you know what you are looking at and you know the anatomy. The basic skills are still important and ultrasound and x-ray are not replacements of this requirement
