Possibly not working: Irinotecan is an antineoplastic agent that interferes with the production of proteins necessary for cancer cell growth and reproduction. It is used primarily for treating cancer of the colon and rectum. While the CEA is of some value in monitoring one must be able to define if a rising marker does indicate drug failure. Here a PET/CAT scan can show if there is recurrence or progression of disease
