Common: It is common for women in their 40's to pass some clots with their periods. Unless you are having other symptoms it is not necessary to do any thing. If your periods become very long or heavy then you need to be seen. The good news is fibroids shrink after menopause and the average age for last menstrual period i this country is now 51 1/2.
