Maybe: The perception of pain is a subjective experience that varies tremendously between individuals, even those undergoing the same procedure or "testing". I suspect that much of your "pain" is in the form of anticipatory anxiety. Work on your decreasing your anxiety, and your perception of pain is very likely to decrease as well.
