NoToothFairyForYou..: Great place to stash your diamonds...It was probably a blood clot. Now what's left is the tooth socket cavity. That clot protected the bone at the bottom so now it's susceptible to drying (even with saliva around) so if it starts to hurt call your dentist pronto. He'll know what to do. Be careful chewing on that side and avoid seeds and fine grain or extremes in temperature. Rinse frequently.
