Faulty monitor? 1.5 hrs after meal gluc level was 57. 3.5 hours (after meal) it's 117. no food in between. not diabetic. felt fine the whole time.

Possibly: The testing strip may have been defective. It is a good idea to immediately repeat any result that seems excessively low or high. If you had a meal high in concentrated sweets you could have had "reactive hypoglycemia" in which the glucose level initially rises and then crashes as your body puts out insulin.
