PIPA: Geofridge, you probably have pigment in the dermis from chronic inflammation caused by the fungus, referred to by dermatologists/ dermatopathologists as post inflammatory pigmentary alteration or PIPA. It will take a long time to finally blend away, in some cases years as the melanin is removed from the dermis by histiocytes (macrophages). Dr Hilliard
