Source of Vit D: 25 -OH D3 is produced in the skin from sunlight (endogenous production), whereas D2 is made synthetically (exogenous) and is found in most dietary supplements. Both are biologically active. You can get D3 as well in a supplement, but it does not make any difference in terms of how it works. The total of D3 and D2 is what is important (goal of over 30)
