Normal Finding: The hymen covers the vaginal orifice in younger women. In some it remains completely intact, but it become "patent" in others. Partially intact means just that, that it has partially opened. This can occur naturally as well as with trauma. There are no cuts or indicators. It is seen on physical exam.
