Brown rice better: Hi. White rice, like all refined grains, is less healthy for you than the whole grain (brown rice in this case, but also whole wheat compared to white flour). The whole grains have fiber and nutrients that the processing removes. Refined grain products are not good for anyone, including diabetics. Sugar is not added to grains in the refining process, however; whole grains have as much starch.
