Very abnormal: Hi. Hypertension (HTN) since age 4 is very abnormal and suggests an anatomic or metabolic cause. Coarctation of the aorta or renal artery stenosis might be most likely. Is your potassium low? You should see an endocrinologist or nephrologist experienced in working up this problem. Do not leave it untreated. You're young, and HTN will hurt you if it hasn't already. Please see an experienced doc.
