Wound contimination: The diameter & depth of a wound help to gauge healing. Antifreeze & even motor oil in small wounds will not significantly impair healing. Ideally, wounds are not contaminated, but the world is not ideal. The fingers are very well supplied with lymphatic channels which help wound to heal. I like to make sure wounds are cleansed, often with simple soap & water & dressed with neosporin or bacitrac
