Stop Elmiron (pentosan) for now: As with all medications side effects cN occur. Elmiron (pentosan) can cause unusual bleeding and nose bleeding has been reported. Recommend stopping the medication for now. Elmiron (pentosan) is approved for 100 mg once in AM then early afternoon then in the evening approximately 1 hour before meals. Taken the recommended way may lessen side effects. Please discuss with your urologist. May consider other treatments.
