Worry enough to quit: It is common for smokers to have trouble clearing secretions. Smoke is toxic to the protective mechanisms of the respiratory system. There is nothing that you could do to promote longer term health that is more important than quitting smoking.

Dry mouth stop smoke: Smoking can dry your mouth out and if you don't drink enough water (8glassesdaily) phlegm could form. If you drink hard alcohol it could irritate your throat and contribute to problem So STOP SMOKING
