Need more info: Hi Kathy, thank you for your question. The causes of excessive mucous production can be vast, and much more information combined with a physical exam would be required to adequately assess the situation. The cold sweats may or may not be related. Infection, hormonal disorders, heart disease or personal constitution can cause excessive sweating
