I have a dull pain in the back of the head, left side, it comes and goes intermittently, what could it be? thanks.

Tension?: You may have some spasming in the muscles on the left side of the neck where they attach to the skull. This can produce a headache as you describe. I would try some advil, (ibuprofen) moist heat and a massage. If it persists you should see your doctor for evaluation.
