Same as any cut: Redness, swelling, yellow discharge or pus. Depends on how clean knife or whatever you used to cut the risk of infection is same as any cut. Make sure you use some bacitracin or other antibiotic ointment More important is the reason for cutting behavior. Therapy and/or medication may help
