Dosage Changes: when I have patients that are a long ways away I try to make dosage changes over the phone on medications such as amitriptyline. If you are using this medication for depression typical doses are 100-200 mg. then I will see patients every 2-3 months in person. Call and ask if you can make changes this way, worse thing they can say is no.

See Doc: You may need an increased dose. 25 mg is low for pain. You'll have to see him to have your dose increased. Perhaps he can do it over the phone.

Face-to-face: Unfortunately TCA (Amitriptyline ) medication monitoring must be done face-to-face or via video conferencing. The only allowable exception is when a patient is experiencing adverse symptoms from psychotropic medication and phone consultation with another professional is necessary. Call your doctor for appointment.
