Muscle spasm: This sounds like muscle inflammation resulting in spasm (uncontrolled contraction of the involved muscle). Anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen or naproxen can help as can applying something warming (like a heating pad) to the affected area. If not resolving a medical or chiropractic visit should be considered
