Why do you take it?: Mag oxide is intended to replace body magnesium when low. Most magnesium products cause loose stools. Hence, milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) for constipation. So, it may worsen the diarrhea symptoms of crohn's. If so, your doc can give you i. V. Magnesium over a few hours in outpatient setting. If using it for cramps etc, other options may suit you better.
