Doubt, but try it: The sporadic use of magnesium oxide provides no side effects unless you have hypermagnesemia ( high magnesium levels) which is not expected unless you take long term daily medicines that increase magnesium as spironolactone, amiloride, and milk of magesia. You can try mag oxide one daily around the period and if works, fine you got your answer.
