Pain on swallowing: If you have allergies it maybe. drainage which can make your throat sore when you swallow with or without food. It can also feel swollen when you swallow. If you have smoked in the past you should get checked if tsymptoms last more than 2 weeks. Cancer pain will usually be persistent and grow worse with time.I tell my pts if they have a symptom that lasts for more than 2-3 weeks to come see me
