Not just pressure.: Pressure alone does not dictate glaucoma. Ocular hypertensive have higher than normal pressure (20mm/hg +/- 2) without even developing glaucoma. Some patients develop low pressure glaucoma with pressures of 11. degree of optic nerve cupping, +/- progression, retinal nerve fiber layer and visual fields are all used to evaluate a glaucoma suspect , irregardless of pressures.
