Could heat (not hot but warm) help reduce (possibly) a new scar and reduce it's appearance? would it have any negative effect (assuming not scalding.)

No/NO: warm heating or compresses will do nothing .It will neither help nor hirt. Please consult a dermatologist, since there are multiple ways to reduce scarring including injection to reduce the size and thickness, drmabrasion new laser technology.
