What would cause a persons spleen to be enlarged? i had pneumonia and then complications which later led to a lymphoma diagnosis.

Lymphoma: The spleen is a collection of lymph nodes and hematopoietic tissue (like bone marrow). Mononucleosis, from the Epstein-Barr virus, or other infections can make it acutely enlarged. Leukemia and lymphoma are cancers of hematopoietic cells and lymphocytes and they can also expand the spleen. If you have lymphoma you should ask your oncologist about it.
