A member asked:

Read nonmenthol smokers more likely to get lungcancer than menthol smokers. this cause they smoke more or is menthol easier on the lungs? or untrue

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not true: Several very large case control studies involving thousands of patients have been reported showing NO difference in cancer rates, heart disease, emphysema and bronchitis between smokers of mentholated and non-mentholated cigarettes. In fact, African-American men smoking menthol cigarettes have a higher rate of lung cancer than those smoking non-menthol, but appears to be due to more cigarettes.
