Tonsillitis: If this is going on for 7 months , you have chronic tonsillitis . Your glands in the neck are trying to fight the infection. Please see ENT , likely you may benefit from tonsillectomy.You may also have a Post nasal discharge and allergies which may be adding to the throat irritation and cough . Please get it evaluated.
