Get checked: A HIV blood test can be done by your MD and can be repeated 3 months after the initial test which will include a possible incubation period.

Deep breath,and ex-: hale.Now,if you develop a flu like illness with fever(get a thermometer ) of 101 or higher in the next few weeks,go c ur doc and get tested for the acute phase of HIV infection,including antivirals,if indicated.Otherwise you will need to wait for a few months for testing.In the mean time,practice safe sex and try to get a sexual history from your sex partner.
