You'll enjoy hearing: The surgery is done under general anesthesia. Tissue is usually taken from fascia over a muscle behind your ear. Sometimes cartilage from your tragus(flap in front of your ear canal) is used. One ear is usually done at a time because packing in your ear blocks your hearing while it heals.
