Tympanoplasty: Not normally a painful operation. If the procedure is done through the ear canal, there is much less pain. There can be some pain, swelling, and discomfort, if it is done via an incision behind the ear or a post-auricular approach. Overall, most people are not on a lot of pain post-op.
