Lung cancer survival: Compared to other cancers in a head-to-head comparison, deaths from lung cancer actually trail cancers of the liver, pancreas, or certain rare aggressive sarcomas. However there is a greater percentage of the population who have lung cancer compared to any of the previously mentioned neoplasms. Survival is most often quoted at only 4% of those diagnosed at 5 years.

No Screening Test: Lung Cancer is very deadly in nature but the treatment of Lung Cancer has fallen behind that of other common cancers because there has been no screening test that was proven to be beneficial up until the past decade - thanks to the efforts of I-ELCAP
