Needs investigation: It is best to see a doctor who can arrange to record your heart beat for 24 hours to see what is going on. You need to see a doctor urgently if the fast heart beat causes you to feel faint or breathless or causes pains in your chest. There are some common causes of fast heart beats such as anxiety, however some causes may need special tablets to control or even surgery to stop.
