Don't do it!: A cold water diet instead of food is a NO! NO! Don't cut down your food but feel free to drink cold water.

Not effective: Hi. Negative energy balance (more calories burned than taken in) does cause weight loss, and if you only drink water for a few days, you will be in negative energy balance. But you'll rebound and overeat coming off it. Those diets never work. In fact just about no diet ever works in the long run. If they did, obesity/overweight would not be epidemic. Live healthily. Good luck!

How many times per day should my baby poop?

It depends....: The frequency of bowel movements varies with age. In the first month, babies can have 4-7 stools per day, sometimes after every feed! at about one month, most infants will move their bowels about 1-4 times per day. By about 4 months, some breastfed babies will only need to have a bm once or twice a week! call your doctor if you are not sure.

Is it normal for my baby to breastfeed and not have a bowel movement for days?

Yes: Usually after the first few weeks the pattern of stooling can change from after every feed to every two or three days, sometimes even longer. If the baby is urinating, gaining weight and is comfortable this is not a problem.

Probably not: In younger women congestive dysmenorrhea can be very severe just before and the first 1-2 days of the cycle. If the symptoms are so severe consider using oral contraceptives which will relieve the symptoms. Talk to your gynecologist about it.
A 33-year-old member asked:

How could a lack of fiber (roughage) in the diet be a cause of colon disease, including colon cancer?

Theories: Of slow bowel activity, build up of bad bacteria creating toxins or toxic environment. And healthy intestinal bacteria with higher fiber diet may cause less colon wall mucosal irritation and less risks for cancer. Also theories of low fat diet and increased exercise lowering colon cancer risks.
