Reasons for PCOS...: You may certainly develop PCOS after having a baby but weight gain is not a direct reason to cause this problem. The cause of PCOS is not clear to researchers and it is thought to be caused by multiple factors( genetics, environmental, insulin resistance, among others). It is an excess of androgens and it could be accompanied by overweight but not necessarily. Follow up with your dr. for evaluation.

No (not really): Weight gain does not give you, or anyone else PCOS, but it may worsen the condition if you have it. PCOS is an inherited metabolic disorder that can be modified (worse/better) by lifestyle including weight. If you don't have PCOS you can't give it to yourself, likewise if you have it it can't be "cured," but can be improved. good wishes.
