If your sleep study: was normal & you have no neurological or systemic medical condition causing yout insomnia, review your medications & your sleep hygiene with your psychiatrist & cardiologist. Sleep deprivation negatively impacts your heart or peripheral vascular disease & puts you at risk for auto accidents if you drive. See a psychologist for intensive, long-term Cognitive-Behavioral & other therapies.

INSOMNIA: 1st have a physical exam to rule out a illness. Consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy to help you with ZOOM. Research indicates with psychotherapy you can change & find better coping mechanisms. If there is a biological reason your thoughts are racing please see a Psychiatrist for medication & possible sleep study. There are much better medications than Ambien.
