What causes rapid pulse and increased body temperature?

Unclear question: Increased body temperature causes increase in pulse rate to increase the blood supply to organs to meet increased demand from rise in metabolic rate that occurs with fever. Fever is a protective reaction of the body as it helps in fighting infections. Inflammatory cells produce cytokines that reset the thermostat in the hypothalamus to a higher level.
