Generic vs brand: Propranolol is a generic beta blocker that lowers blood pressure & heart rate. If you're physically active, it may not be best drug unless you have palpitations or racing heart. Atacand is a brand of candesartan (http://www.drugs.com/atacand.html) which is an ARB which lowers BP & protects both kidneys & heart, useful in diabetes & heart failure. Generics are typically less expensive than brand
