A member asked:

Is anyone familiar with atacand (candesartan) for bp?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A good medicine: Atacand (candesartan) belongs to the class called angiotensin-receptor-blocker, works by dilating blood vessels, including those in the kidneys. This is a good/safe BP med, often used in folks with diabetes. Typically lowers 10-15 points of BP measurement. It is also available as combined med with a diuretic--atacand-hctz. Consult doc if you have problem/side effects. Good luck.
