Many causes: Dry eye is due to many internal and external influences: Age, decrease estrogen, medications, dry winter heat, wind, systemic diseases-sjogrens, rheumatoid arthritis, collagen vascular disease. Treatment includes artificial tear use, hydration, fish oil supplementation, humidification. Medication such as restasis.
