Why is it currently the norm to be overweight?

Overweight: The best method for finding out if you are overweight or not is to go on-line and look for the "Body Mass Index" -(BMI). It will ask for your height and weight and ideally you should not be above a BMI of 25 - give or take a little.

Norm, not correct.: It may be pervasive in society as you suggested, but being overweight certainly should not be an accepted norm. It is so prevalent because of our food choices and portion sizes - unhealthy and large - that abound in modern society.
