Occasionally while at rest my heart rate drops to the low 50's.upon rising goes to 70's-90's.i have a congenital vsd so i have ekg's done each cardio visit. results are my norm. i am overweight not a runner.worried it's to low and could stop pumping?

The normal rate is 60-100. So technically 50s is below normal. Several issues affect the heart rate and can vary depending on activity and emotions, health issues, temperature, things we take in. A low heart rate may be of no concern on the other hand it can be. See your doctor.
