Anytime : If you have ongoing TMJ problems you can see your dentist or qualified specialist anytime. It is sometimes better to see them when you are actively experiencing the problem as it may help with diagnosis abd evaluation. This will vary with the true cause of TMJ as it may relate to a muscular, skeletal, or neuropathic problem. Best of luck.

Depends: Depends on how bad your symptoms are. If you only have painless minor popping, no problem. If your symptoms are painful, see the dentist soon. Not just ANY dentist, see a TMJ expert.
