Late 1800's: Staph aureus has been first identified and described in late 1800' s. Methicillin resistant Staph aureus is an evolved strain that have become resistant to Penicillins and it was initially associated with hospital infections, probably first described in mid 1900's, nowadays becoming common in community acquired infections.
